Headed for the Wild Wild West!

AirplaneThat’s right…we’re taking a family vacation to Wyoming for a whole week. HOW EXCITED AM I?!!! Very…but the one thing I hate about travelling is the preparation (dun dun dun…):

Not only do I pack myself (which is a task in itself), but also for my two daughters. I’m very thankful Michael is able…and willing… to pack himself ;) And it’s probably the perfectionist in me, but I have to wash everything first and then pack it….I even go as far as to pack the girl’s clothes in plastic bags (just in case someone else’s baggage leaks something, which has happened to me before…ew).

Then there’s the dogs. This is the first time we’re leaving them. However, they are in good hands (I know because I unexpectedly checked the kennel out last week…surprise!). I think Nicki and Tubby will like it at Pioneer Retriever Kennel….and it’s only a 15 minute drive from our house! Woo hoo!

Carry on bags must have the essentials: snacks, sippy cups, dvds and player, activity books, tissues, hand sanitizer, and girls’ favorite stuffed animal. I’m not too worried about the girls on the plane though, since they did an excellent job when they took a trip to Texas with me in October. (Lilli loved having a window seat…lol) I know it will be easier with Papa in the picture to help (BIG SMILE).

wyomingI do have a lot to be thankful for: Momma Carol already has diapers for Corinne & 4 outfits waiting for the girls so I don’t have to pack as much, and our neighbors are going to keep an eye on our house while we’re gone. How generous is that?! A BIG thank you to all of them! I’m also looking forward to just having a great time with my family while we’re out west….I will be sure to make many posts with pictures :)
So now that I’m obviously procrastinating my packing….I better get to it.

Oh, this would be one more thing to add to my Before & After: Children blog wouldn’t it???

Time Flies

Today we took a field trip to the airport - free parking, no lines, and we didn’t even have to walk through a metal detector. No, no, no, we didn’t receive special treatment. We took a field trip to the Winchester Regional Airport. A friend of mine is a pilot and was nice enough to donate her plane, as well as her piloting skills, to a group of curious preschoolers & toddlers. As she usually wants to see how things are done before trying them out, I was surprised that Lilli wanted to go “very first.”

She hopped right into the passenger seat, buckled up, and with “Miss Leslie’s” help, put her earphones on.

I wonder where her life will take her as she grows up (sigh)

Proverbs 22:6 (NLT)
“Direct your children onto the right path,
and when they are older, they will not leave it.”
